Project Summary for Kurt
I anticipate taking this Blog project to the next level. I plan to introduce this Blog to both my new re-admit population of approximately 50 students as well as those continuing re-admit students, approximately 80 students, that are not off contract as of yet effective summer semester (8-week session) and then continue on through the fall.
I plan on posting once a week minimum. For my new students (fall semester) I am looking for a way to incoporate checking in on the blog as part of their university contract. I also hope to gather some information on how many semesters they have been out of school, number of hours per week they are working, number of hours they expect to study, through the poll feature.
Ultimately, I hope to have enough experience and data to incorporate my findings to further enhance a presentation that my colleague and I are planning to present on in early October in Chicago, IL and in Chyenne, WY next April. Our presentation focuses on the challenges and successes we have experienced over the last four years with regard to the re-admit student population at Utah State University.

Week 3
Did you know?
The Academic Resource Center (ARC)offers free, yes FREE math tutoring for any student in the following classes: Math 0900-2250 and Statistics 1040, 2000, 3000. Tutor labs are located in the Taggart Student Center Room 225A and Lundtrom Student Living Center. If you are in a math class this semester you should make it a habit to schedule time in the math lab for completing your homework. For more information about tutoring through the ARC please visit: http://www.usu.edu/arc/tutoring/.
The English Department sponsors a writing lab that although not free to all students (your ENGL 1010 lab fee allows you to utilize this service for free the semester you are enrolled), it is available to all students for a nominal fee. Studies has proven that on average, students that utilize this service earn a half a letter grade higher (minimum) overall. It is important to schedule an appointment to ensure availability. Visit http://writingcenter.usu.edu/ .
NOTE: Do not wait until the day before your paper is due! Leave yourself time for incorporating the edits.

Week 3
Weekly Happenings at Utah State
Each Monday by noon I will post a new link for Weekly Happenings. This will include a list of both on-campus and off-campus activities that you may wish to participate in. Many of these activities can (and should) be used to fulfill your Aggie Passport requirement.
Stay Tuned.

PS There is not an active link to this Weekly Happenings site/document in the summer so you will just have to use your imagination.
